Issam Krimi is a pianist, keyboardist, composer, aranger and music producer. Young experimented musician, praised by both media and public, that salute his music "lying beyond stylistic gaps". Influenced by Herbie Hancock, David Bowie, Miles Davis, Aphex Twin, Radiohead, etc. he expresses through his discography, and collaborative works a confirmed talent for musical creation and incentive projects. Sensitive to crossborders projects, particularly in the fields of cinema and dance, he is drawing a popular music, groovy and poetic.
He is one of the co-leader of the cooperative artists group MUSIC UNIT
Born in Aubervilliers, he initiates his musical course by studying classic piano in the CNR of La Courneuve Aubervilliers. He also studies musicology at the Paris VIII University, and discovers Ligeti, Berio and Dutilleux through the teaching of Francis Bayer his orchestration teacher.
Along his classical training, he studies jazz and improvised music with Malo Vallois in ENM Montreuil, harmony with Bernard Maury, arrangements with Pierre Bertrand (Paris Jazz Big Band), and meets Andy Emler (MegaOctet).
Antoine Hervé spots him and becomes his teacher, and then produces his first album.
He focuses on his own projects, and collaborates regularly with pop, rock, and hip hop music, in particular with Néry, ZA, Charlotte etc. or D' de Kabal. He also performs with Benoît Delbecq, Dgiz, Vincent Courtois, Stéphane Payen, Sylvaine Hélary, Christophe Monniot, Andy Emler, Cédric Piromalli...
His wide interest for arts brings him to work in the video field with ARTE. He also takes part into collaborative works with photographers like Pierre Terrasson, videodirectors Julie Terrasson, and choreographer / textile designer such as Faye Formisano.
In 2007 he creates the association Instant Sonore, and as artistic director he developps a comprehensive approach of musical creation in close partnership with music school, universities. He also teaches within the Jazz department of Paris XX Music Conservatory.
In 2008, he founds, together with Julien Chirol and Pierre Luzy the collaborative artist mouvement MUSIC UNIT. With Pierre Luzy, they produce in 2008 the first record of Some Like It Odd (Le Chant du Monde - Harmonia Mundi), and the three of them are currently preparing the new album of Le Sacre du Tympan of Fred Pallem.
In 2009, his third record as a leader, produced with Pierre Luzy, conceived as a tribute to the famous French singer Barbara, named Barbara Piano Solo (Bee Jazz / Abeille Musique), is awarded a Choc from Jazz Magazine, and is saluted by the public and medias.
On stage, his music moves toward electro music and cinema, through the Barbara Piano Solo Electro Project, realized with the sound engineer Seb Viguier.
For 2010 and 2011 he is preparing two projects : one base on a collaboration with cinema, dance and visual arts, and a new innovative record.
